About The Role
Waldon Telecomoperates as a Wireless Telecommunication Infrastructure Services Companyand ispart of the Telecom Division of M Group Services.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for aSenior Quantity Surveyorto be part of ourCommercial Teamin the UK.
What will you be doing?
As theSenior QuantitySurveyor,you will provide end to end commercial management and control of the projects in their area of responsibility.
You will support operational delivery through appropriate procurement of resources, drive contract margin through maximising value and minimising cost, provide key commercial and contractual advice to our operational team to mitigate risks and maximise opportunity and ensure we have effective management account / CVR procedures to support business critical reporting and decision making.
This role fits within Waldon Telecom'sCommercial Teamand will work collaboratively with the Operations and Senior Management.
Role is mostly desk/office based, but some travel to site maybe be required.
Whatwill your key responsibilities be?
As theSenior Quantity Surveyorwill directly manage a team of two and effectively manage the relationships with our Clients, Supply Chain and other key internal stakeholders to facilitate the right outcomes for the business.
- Effectively manage your team to ensure that all key activities are completed on time and to the right standard including:
- Preparing and submitting bid documentation with the support of the project team
- Negotiation of pricing and T&Cs with our Clients
- Negotiation of pricing and T&Cs with our supply chain
- Contract Administration including issuing of the appropriate notices, payments etc
- Minimise waste through effective risk management and cost control
- Providing critical commercial support to the project team to protect the interests of Waldon
- Management Accounts and Reporting
- Proactive and timely cash recovery
- Any other commercial management activity deemed good industry practice.
What qualifications, skills and experience are we looking for?
- UK Driving Licence.
- Willingness to travel.
- You will need to be able to lead a team and balance the ability to support the wider business whilst, from time to time, have challenging conversations to govern business decisions which have a commercial impact.
- Degree Qualification in Quantity Surveyor or relevant experience.
- Telecoms experience is desirable, but not essential subject to the candidate having demonstrable experience in the responsibilities outlined and an ability to quickly adapt to a new sector / working environment.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet key deadlines in a pressurised, target driven environment, whilst maintaining a customer focused ethos.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to build positive relationships across a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment to achieve programme targets
- Strong multi-tasking and organisational skills.
- Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Highly enthusiastic and self-motivated.
- Ability to identify opportunities to drive continuous improvement.
- Ability to lead a direct team and influence those who are not directly under their management control.
